Golem is a Ship-Based Weapon. Ship-based weapons have the longest range and damage per attack of all weapon types, but also have the longest cooldown, the highest He3 consumption, and are the only weapon type other than planetary that gains no scattering damage from research. With their long range, they can often outmaneuver enemies if used on a sufficiently fast ship.
