Helio Sword is a Ballistic Weapon. Ballistic weapons possess a short range and low damage potential per attack, but also no cooldown and consume little He3. They can eventually be upgraded to do scattering damage, hitting all ships in the same horizontal row as the targeted ship stack. Higher level research grants bonus damage based on closeness to the target, granting up to 220% bonus damage when attacking from 1 square away.
